Barcelona, June 8, 2026. — The Federation of the Higher Commission of Culture and of Catalan Muslims (FederaCSCIM.CAT) and the Federation of the Association of Islamic Entities of Catalonia (AEI.CAT) have published a letter of welcome addressed to Sant Pare Lleó XIV on the occasion of the new pastoral visit, in which they express their greetings more sincere and affectionate and reaffirm their commitment to the shared values of mutual respect, fraternity, social justice and peace.

In the text, the two federations highlight that Catalonia and Spain are a land of discovery, dialogue and coexistence between diverse peoples, cultures and religious traditions. The entities that make up both federations work every day to strengthen these values, convinced that diversity is a wealth that strengthens the whole of society.

The federations consider that the presence of Sant Pare represents an opportunity to renew the commitment to the universal values that unite humanity beyond all differences. In this sense, they especially value the missatge of those most vulnerable, the defense of human dignity and the construction of bridges between communities and religious confessions, a missatge that—assured—inspires many people to love the world.

From the cultural and religious communities they represent, the entities deem that the visit contributes to reinforcing the interreligious dialogue, civic coexistence and the culture of peace that our times so needs. Share the conviction that only through escort, respect and cooperation is possible to face the great social, human and spiritual challenges of the 21st century, and reaffirm your commitment to the construction of a more cohesive Catalonia, with all people seeking to maintain faith, culture and identity in freedom, respect and harmony.
