The compass of AEICAT: who we are, what we defend and how we work.
Missió
AEICAT is the federation of Islamic entities of Catalonia: a structure of representation, services and training that work so that the mesquites and Catalan Muslim communities have their own, real resources and a solid interlocutor for public administrations.
We are not an imported vehicle. We do not represent the foreign government cap or the political current cap. We represent the Muslims here, with the six realities, the six languages and the will to participate fully in the life of this country.
Vision
We will create a strong, cohesive and recognized Catalan Muslim community. A community that does not have to justify its relevance, that participates in public life with nature, and that participates in imams formats, mesquites are accompanied and young people with solid referents.
AEI.cat aspires to be the Islamic federation of Catalonia: modern, transparent and valent. I long term, a model for other communities of the Spanish State.
Values
Arrelament
We are from here. Parlem català i castella. We understand the reality of this territory and work from within, not from outside.
Independence
It does not depend on the foreign State cap, nor on the political partit cap. Our only authority is the responsibility of the communities that represent the values of Islam.
royal service
What matters are the concrete problems: the bureaucracy, the imams without training, the young people without referents, the cementiris, the permits. No fem sideboard politics.
Transparency
Publiquem el que fem, com ho financem i quines decisions prenem. Confidence is guanya amb fets, not amb paraules.
Innovation
Learn from what works in other religious communities and in other European countries. I don't mind seeing them sew differently.
Unity in diversity
Respect the differences of origin, legal school and tradition of the Muslim community. Our strength is to add, not divide.
